I actually use these two features.Įarlier this year Microsoft started the Power-Query-on-the-Mac ball rolling by adding the ability to import data from CSV files and other Excel files but this week came the HUGE announcement that The Query Editor is now available to users on Microsoft 365 Beta Channel.Įxpecting some cut down implementation like the VBA Editor, I gave it a test-drive and was pleasantly surprised. Two critical (for me and many others but maybe not for you) features that are missing from the Mac version are Power Pivot / Data Model and Power Query. When it comes to Excel, today there is near-parity between the 2 platforms (it’s taken a few years to get to that point) however there’s still a way to go. You can click this feedback icon to send your feedback and suggestions about the Power Query experience in Excel for Mac to the Excel for Mac team. Throughout the Power Query experience, you will find a feedback icon on the top right of the dialogs. The Power Query Editor experience is not currently present in Excel for Mac. Note: The latest update to the Power Query in Excel for Mac experience enables just the Get Data experience for both the Excel and TXT / CSV connectors. This experience resembles the ‘Get Data’ experience found in the Power Query online integrations. You are now able to connect to Excel and TXT / CSV files from your local folders. We highly recommend that you turn off Rosetta to get the best experience. When launching the Excel application, you will get prompted with a message that explains this case. Full support without Rosettaįor customers using the Excel for Mac app with an Apple silicon chip, you are no longer required to use Rosetta in order to use Power Query.
